PG Grading has simplified coin grading. Instead of embracing the Sheldon Scale, PG applies a simple 1-10 grading scale after placing coins into one of three categories. Proof, Circulated or Uncirculated. (Grade 10) being Gem-Mint, (Grade 1 Being poor). These details are all featured on the label which sits within your graded coin case. A special mention of (Patina) will also feature on your graded coin cases label should your coin have this feature.
Why have we done this?
The Sheldon Scale is complicated. We feel it takes too long for many to truly understand which has stopped new collectors buying into graded coins. Asking a grader to keep to the consistency of the Sheldon scale is something here at PG we found to be unrealistic. whilst many will forever preach the old ways, PG believes that things can be improved, given for the right reasons.
Collectors have been crying out for a respected UK Grading brand. PG has built a solid reputation for grading accuracy and most importantly, consistency within trading cards. It now looks to build on these foundations by expanding into the world of coins. Our founder unlike other UK graders, has had first hand experience selling coins to collectors in his early working life. We get it, we understand the hobby of coins and know exactly what you may be looking for.
The PG label is modern, sleek and truly brings your graded coins to life so that you can handle and enjoy them well outside of your traditional presentation boxes should you wish to do so.
Once graded and encapsulated, your serial number will be stored onto the PG Grading global population report. This means a serial number can be verified on our main site www.pggrading.co.uk
PG Grading was founded by Peter Graham who revolutionised the UK trading card grading scene in 2020. Previously, only American companies graded cards. Until we came along. Over 70,000 graded collectibles later, PG now looks to make a mark within the coin grading market.

You can submit your coins for grading with PG on our main website using the submission flow linked below. Coins are graded within 10 working days of us receiving them for just £10.99.
For coins or packages worth more than £2500+ we ask that you contact us directly before placing your submission. This is so we can discuss suitable transport for your pieces to and from our office.
